Outdoor security cameras are a bit more complicated than indoor cameras for a few reasons. One, you have to worry about the power source, especially if the camera is plug-in. Two, it has to be able to handle being rained on, snowed on, hailed on, or any other weather that’s thrown at it. Three, it needs to be able to withstand a large range of temperatures, especially if you live in a place with extreme heat or cold. One drawback of the #YiOutdoor is that it needs to be plugged into an outlet through a standard extension cord, so it’s not a good choice if you were looking for an outdoor, wireless security camera.

My cameras are making a crackling noise. Annoying

Shan Bax says:

Thank you for the review! This may be a silly question, but can I have the app downloaded onto two mobile phones so that both my roomate and I can check it at any time?

Hallstrom says:

Great and informative video. I have a question: Would I still be able to use the app with the notifications, 2-way speakers, etc WITHOUT using the cloud service? I'm hoping to find a security camera that I can store footage locally, but it still connects to an app where I can get notifications.

thank you!

Joseph Ferguson says:

Why couldn’t you use just a larger memory micro SD card?

Good Afternoon Security Baron,

I have YI indoor cameras and works well during the day, and night vision is ok ( my camera point thru a window to outdoor area). I have the Night Vision turned off due to IR flashing and reflecting off the window. Now I have been looking to add outdoor camera that does better with night Vision and larger field of view. Also of course clarity at night mainly. I do not have platform I have to have like Google, etc. I have 1 light by front door that is on motion so most of the light is off unless motion is detected. Just looking what you feel is a nice choice for this application? I dont know if you recommend a Nest IQ outdoor? Or an Arlo or Ring? Thanks for all videos and information. Really enjoy all of mine you spend in your reviews. I always enjoy watching them. Keep up fantastic job.

Cloud storage fee is a little expensive.

Kevin Alexander says:

Hello all! I have 3 cameras as of now. The manual says it recommends 8-32gb SD cards. Has anyone tried 64 and 128gb SD cards? If so what has been the max you’ve used? THANK you and I’d appreciate any response

Ankur Gholkar says:

can this camera be used with ring security system?

Jamie Sexton says:

I'm trying to use the IP Camera Viewer App on Roku with my 4 new YI Outdoor cameras, but I am at a loss as to how I can find the 'IP' for each cam. Any advice?

Robert Berin says:

32gb SD limit is the killer. 1080p should allow for 128gb!

AH Live 215 says:

So people don't have access to an outlet outside or its not near the camera. Kinda sucks

Dave Wright says:

How long would a 32 gig micro SD record for in the YI?

Jarek says:

I use two cameras, I changed WiFi network, do I have to setup up from beginning?

Vandan Patel says:

ERICK Valiente says:

How many we can set up?
