My late review of the Wyze Cam and Wyze Cam Pan is here after nearly a year of procrastination. These are absolutely amazing smart home cameras. Not only are you getting a ton of features for $20 but the overall video quality and the quality of the Wyze App make these cameras the best buy if you’re looking for a wifi camera. If you buy them direct from the Wyze website the Wyze Cam is $20 and the Wyze Cam Pan is $30. The cameras cost a few dollars more at other retailers.

Spencer Steele says:

Can I set a schedule for either motion or continuous record on it? Or is there a toggle?

Lara Maui says:

Nice review. How do you keep the wireless cameras charged if you have each one attached to a window or outside(with sprcial equipment)? How long does the charge last? Or are they batterry operated?

Lance Gallup says:

Now if they’d just build one that’s battery powered… 🙁

lolo O says:

so the camera wont record 24/7 ongoing even if you have a SD card on it? or the camera will record on going without any problem until you runout of storage on SD card?

Ryan Witkowski says:

Great video!

Mark D says:

I bought 4 in recent months. The two-way
speaker function has never worked with any of them. Within a month, one of the
camera’s IR stopped working. I contacted them about it and it took a week for
them to respond, and when they did, they asked if it had started working again.
They then asked me to jump through hoops to troubleshoot the problem. Then 24
hours later they asked me what the results were. I work for a living so I can’t
get to troubleshooting THEIR FAULTY product in their timeframe. At that point I
told them to just replace it which was going to be too much of a pain in the
ass as well…GRRRR!!!!. This morning I can’t even review playback function with
they’re products default excuse due to slow network when my network is running
over 120/12. This is a built in Bull Shit excuse for their crappy product. The
bells and whistles along with the cheap price will scream “BUY ME!”. But as with
all things, you pay for what you get. This product is short-lived and
DISPOSABLE. DO NOT DEPEND ON THIS PRODUCT TO PROTECT HOME, BELONGINGS AND LOVED
ONES. Spend a little more money on a product that will actually perform as
advertised for a longer period of time. You will only be frustrated with this
product unless you’re just looking for a toy….

Why is all affordable “low end” tech run off of 2.4ghz

7sArts says:

you should put wireshark on of your machines… isolate the IP of your wizecam and look at the traffic that thing generates. You would be surprised.

Miss desire Independance says:

People are saying the cameras died after 2 months and loses WiFi connection.

Cam DAhawkdriver says:

I’m looking for a camera like this except I would like the option to record to a NAS or record in bursts to my NAS (like at the end of the day). Nobody does that and all these cheap cameras have their own proprietary software. That’s a huge downside and in general, they are fairly insecure.

Mark D says:

I purchased 4 Wyze Cams over the past several months. In that time, one of the cameras lost its IR capability and none of their mic talk functions ever worked. When I contacted support for the IR issue, it took a week for support to respond and then only to tell me what I needed to do to troubleshoot their problem camera….and it was a lot of crap to go through just to troubleshoot something that should have worked longer than a few weeks. I didn't feel that I should have to deal with that so I asked for a swap of a new camera, but again, I would have to jump through hoops to make that happen. I make decent money as a business analyst and considering the time and effort it would take me to fulfill that request, along with the cheap price of the camera, it wasn't a cost effective swap for me. There were other issues such as frequent audio blanks in addition to obvious omissions of things the cameras should have recorded like deliveries being made at my front door. In my opinion they rolled out this product before vetting all of the basic functionality which would explain why many many other Wyze Cam owners are having the same issues. The upside to this product is the function over cost. I consider these disposable products and do not recommend them in critical areas as it isn't a reliable product…short or long term. Spend more money for a reliable product and peace of mind….

Larry B says:

They have NOT been $20 in many, many months. Since this is a new video, why are you using the old price?

kevin wallis says:

well i bought 3 less then a year ago and I'm down to 1. 2 just stopped working all together. ill buy a better cam and pay monthly for the better things they offer. by the time to you buy the memory card, your going to be around 40 bucks each.

S E says:

I paid $30 at Home Depot and that was on sale🤨

rodney espinosa says:

Jane would say hell just tape it up and paint it whatever color you want.

Jose Sanchez says:

I have 7 wyze cams several are pan. These are great I have them outside and can see every square foot outside. I get 7 days recording on a 32gb card set on sd camera setting.

face of just ice says:

I LOOKS SLIGHTY BETTER THAN THE ISMART ALARM CAMERA THE ONLY DIFFRENCE IN MY EXPERIENCE IS THAT I CAN UNPLUG MY ISMART ALARM CAMERA IF I WANT AND PLUG IT BACK WHEN I NEED IT WITH NO PROBLEM AND WITH THE WYZE CAM IF YOU UNPLUG IT IT WILL GIVE YOU PROBLEMS CONNECTING AGAIN WHEN YOU PLUG IT BACK IN…SO THERES A DIFFRENCE HOW YOU FEEL WITH PRIVACY

Frank Wess says:

I'm assuming this works without WiFi? So how does that work? You put it in your computer? Does it matter if you have a pc or a mac?

kishore mukkamala says:

is this available in walmart ?

Genius by Design says:

How long is the CLOUD recording ?

Heather Madlock says:

Does this have to be plugged in at all times to use or does it run on a chargeable battery pack?

Just4FunDslee1 says:

I had some problems with a couple of cameras Wyze has the very best customer support just a little hard to get hold of. But they get 10 out of ten from me.

R.Rodriguez0309 says:

ok so if i do buy a micro SD card the camera can record for more than 12 seconds??

Anas Ahmad Nasir says:

You mentioned it works with Amazon, what about Google home? Does it work with that?

Andrew Nelson says:

You should do a video about dash cams and which to buy

Chris Graham says:

A $20 dollar camera would be great, but not in Canada. The best price in Canada for the basic wyze cube is a two-pack on Amazon.ca for $103.81
Still not a bad price but two and a half times what our U.S.A. neighbours pay. Remember, the exchange rate on the dollar is only 25%, so $20.00 American is only $25.00 Canadian.
That's still double the price in Canada where we are ripped off as usual.
