Could I ask for some source files from the camera to check if the laptop will process them?

Public upload.

Mogłbym prosić o jakieś pliki źródłowe z kamery aby sprawdzić czy laptop obrobi je ?

Publiczny upload.

Thx

I love my E2! best purchase i made. And we have the best facebook group ever!

FanaticalDrummer says:

Honestly 4k isnt even a selling point for me anymore. No one even streams or watches in 4k. If you’re not shooting for cinema or large projection, honestly save your money. You can get a high quality cinema super 35 in 1080p with awesome lenses and a global shutter for way less. The general public still doesnt know what 4k is. People who require it, dont even understand it. Everything is mobile now. 4k is wasted resolution. Its the same industry fad as mirrorless cameras shooting 4k or more than 24mp just to be sampled down or uploaded to social media. I personally could careless. For me, if the colors are solid, build is solid, sensor has dynamic range and depth, and lenses are reasonable, then not having 4k isnt even a deal breaker.

Just a slight correction: 10-bit, 12-bit, etc. is in reference to bit depth not bitrate.

L-Ex Media says:

Hey Tom, I use many of your videos to become a better filmmaker. Thank you.
Can anyone tell me if the a6500 will make a good B-CAM alongside this?

Jimmy Tissanabo says:

I love this review, now i make up my mind on the beast, i would like to see comparison between z raw and braw about color correction. Thank you

Vid Headz says:

What I'm really interested to see Tom talk about is the Z Cam color Suite in Premiere and how it is similar to Raw adjustments. Maybe he will cover another follow up vid.

Vid Headz says:

Interesting vid, I own the E2 and the E2C and I can agree with some of the points here but not all. I respect tom as a filmmaker but I think some points are just opinions of bias workflow. Great vid none the less because it causes the viewer to question all aspects of the cam which they should do regardless before buying. a few things Z Cam did with buttons and Cfast Card door was skimp a little to keep cost down and if you have worked with this cam for any extent of time the buttons become second nature and the door can be simply modified, but I understand his concerns as they are part of his workflow and what bothers him.

Mi Oś says:

Hey Anton !! Great Video as always ! Why you have Poland hat ? Best Regards from Poland ! ! ! <3

G. S. says:

Seems like a good camera, but the Blackmagic is $700 less. And Blackmagic's s35mm Pocket Camera is $600 less than Z-Cam's equivalent s35mm camera.

Simien Hill says:

Reminds me of the black magic pocket cam

Forrest Gibson says:

Personally, I've been very happy with the E2. So much so that I'm selling my RED Scarlet and moving to the F6 as my A Cam.

I chose this camera over the Pocket for a bunch of reasons. I'd be happy to answer questions, but really quickly the things I prefer on the E2 are:

Being able to shoot almost 4 hours at 4k on a single npf-970, the form factor and build quality, the better internal processor really comes into play when shooting high framerates, ISO performance is fantastic (analog gain), I love the way this camera handles highlights, built in wireless is great for art direction or a Director's monitor, and just overall I feel like the camera feels a lot more comfortable to use on set and run and gun.

goodeggpro says:

I'm left struggling on why this camera would be better than a Pocket 4K unless you NEEDED 4K/120 for some reason. It's $700 more expensive, has no usable monitor and does not shoot in any flavor of raw. While I was watching this vid, I was thinking that this might be a nice C cam or specialty cam, but then I saw the price and immediately took it out of the running. For its price, I could get another Pocket 4K AND a cage AND a handle AND a monitor AND an SSD.

So unless someone just really needed that 4K/120, this is a miss. However, I do like where the industry is going, making smaller, more accessible cinema tools for those who want them. And if there's no Zcam (or Kinefinity), there's no reason for BlackMagic to continue to innovate and lead.
