Hey mate
For filming surfing, we keep the camera on and record for 5-10 seconds when ever a friend gets a wave, for up to 2 hours.
How would the battery go using it this way? Keeping it on, ready to film and filming 5 to 10 seconds every few minutes or so, on a tripod.

Nice to see what Canon has been up to since I got my now venerable PowerShot SX110 (9.0 Mpixels, 6.0 – 60 mm, f1:2.8 – 4.3 so you don't have to look it up in the musty archives of the internet) back in 2008, also for a trip to Disney World. Yeah, its a boat anchor (a small boat anchor) by today's standards, but it serves my modest needs for still shots well and has more than adequate sharpness for my equally ancient laptop. It was highly recommended by Consumer Reports, back in the day.

Hey, we old dudes still "get off on '57 Chevys ."

My guess is this is the upgrade to the Canon Gx7 Mark II? Only complaint I have on the Gx7 is that its not 4K. Cool video Phil!

Is the 4k video sharp? Other reviews I have seen said the 4k doesn't look like 4k..that it is soft..
